STARMARIE meets President-elect Tsai Ing-wen at Taiwan’s FANCY FRONTIER

Fantasy idol unit STARMARIE marked their seventh performance in Taiwan by meeting history-making president-elect Tsai Ing-wen in Taipei. Taiwanese media flashbulbs went off as STARMARIE presented Ms. Tsai gifts including their single “Mekurumeku Yuuki!” from TV TOKYO’s Card Fight!! Vanguard G, as they took commemorative photos together. Shots from this scene also made it on to local TV.

Tsai Ing-wen is the president-elect of the Republic of China, the first woman elected to the office. Ms. Tsai was thrilled by Monya Nakane initiating conversation in Chinese. “You’re an idol from Japan?” Tsai remarked on Nakane’s language ability, as the group promoted their March 20 solo show at Taipei PIPE LIVE MUSIC.

The photos from the event can be viewed on President-elect Tsai’s public Facebook page.

STARMARIE’s setlist included “Mekurumeku Yuuki!”, and “Vocaloids In Love”, delighting the swarming fans at the venue.

After their return to Japan, STARMARIE will perform a solo show at Tokyo’s Shibuya TSUTAYA O-EAST.
